PTC Programs
Programs organized & funded by PTC
Art Docent
Building a love and understanding of art starts at any age. The Art Docent program is run by parent volunteers, who lead or support a lesson in each classroom multiple times per year. PTC provides all of the supplies needed for running this program in all classrooms across Oakhills & Ridgeview. Art projects are featured in the Multi-Purpose Room during Open House.
Assemblies
Bringing students together to learn something in an exciting way is our mission with school assemblies. We work with the Principals each year to plan and sponsor assemblies for students throughout the year. When your students come home and tell you about BMX bike riders, Wild Things and more, those are all the fun events you are making happen when donating to PTC.
Author Day
We want to build a lifelong love of reading in all of our students and one way we help with this goal is to bring Authors to schools each year. Students have a special opportunity to hear directly from the Authors and purchase one of their books. We work with the Principals to select Authors each year.
Bookfair
This event helps raise funds to provide ongoing support to our libraries and is fun for everyone! Students have a chance to purchase books and gifts, parent volunteers have a chance to interact with teachers, staff and students.
Campus Improvements
Our school campus and facilities need continuous maintenance and as our schools age, upgrades become essential for maintaining a great school environment. PTC funds many improvements with our generous donations AND hundreds of hours of donated time from all of our gracious volunteers.
Classroom Grants
Our teachers submit their requests each year so we can help them with supplies, new programs or materials they need to create the best classroom experience. We fund as many of the requests as possible year over year and get input from the Principals on the most critical needs. Examples from this year include ....
Community Crew
Learn more about how to get involved, enjoy refreshments and meet new parents! We meet at Feist Park between drop-off or pick-up times and will promote the events on the website and our social channels.
Dad's Club
A club, organized by Dads, for all parents to support our schools and connect with our community and create a better environment for our kids to go to school. We focus on the projects that the Principals don't have time, resources, or money to get done by the School or District. We also find time to connect outside of projects to get to know the other parents in the community in a social setting.
Fall Fest
Our hallmark community event for the year! We encourage all families to join us out on the black top for an evening of fun with bounce houses for the kids, food trucks, music and activities.
Family Nights
Evening activities where families can get together for dinner to help with fundraising and supporting local businesses. We'll announce each event on our website, social channels and in school communications.
Jog-a-thon
Our main fundraiser! Every year we get the whole school involved to run for dollars to support the programs, supplies and materials we provide each year. We also set targets to help with campus improvements - we've been able to add new basketball hoops at Ridgeview, a new playground at Oakhills, marquee signs for both schools and benches to go under the shade structure.
Spirit Wear
Show your school spirit with a variety of options for students & families! Spirit wear is shipped directly to your home and available 24/7 via our convenient online store.
Teacher Appreciation
Every year we shower our teachers and staff with our appreciation! From coffee carts to handmade cards to a special luncheon at the end of the week we organize activities throughout the week to recognize our incredible teachers.
